First Day in Delhi

Safe and sound in Delhi. Everything as planned, except the flight delay of two hours.

Wow, Delhi. All i have been waiting for. Those roads with mud and dust, cars, motorbikes, bicycles.... I miss my home town, the place i was born in Myanmar. Somehow, i dont feel like a stranger. Almost the same, except the indian drivers horn probably more than any other drivers in the world.

I havent been to many places, but just walked around M market to find a place for dinner. PizzaHut was good. By the way,Delhi has so many good looking people, but they dont smile much. :).... may be not to the strangers.

And the gentleman Rahu, the one who picked me up from the airport, he is good. He speaks good english, didnt drive too fast. I have read in some blogs about how taxi drivers drive too fast in Delhi. Hotel is good. Thanks to Shilpi.

Time to rest for now. Tomorrow is the big day. :)

North Indian Thali and Salt Lassi....

Yes,,, that's what i had for dinner tonight. Today, Wired the final payment of 1st stage fees as we dont wish to carry much money during the trip to Delhi.

Applied India Visa today as well. Will get it within two working days. On the way back, had indian food for dinner. North Indian Thali (Byrani Rice and some veggie curry) and Salt lassi (not sure what it is, but was very salty....LOL).... loved byrani rice and veggie curry but the drink was too salty and the sweet was the sweetest sweet i ever had in life... :P

Schedule on Track.......Getting Close Now....:)

June, 2011

Received email from Neha. Thank you so much. Will get the surrogate profiles on 12th June. Good now, wont disturb the team at least, not before 12th June. Hehe...:)

They are doing their job, whatever necessary at their end. From our side, got flght ticket, arranged for Airport Pick Up and Accomodation with Shilpi.

Wow, thats only two weeks away from now. BTW, also studying part time. It is good in away because I am occupied with my study when i am not working. But again, the setback is that it does give me some stress. Exam is on 11th June, good timing. So now, dont think about the trip until 12th June. I am trying.....

Waiting.........and Waiting

Early May, 2011

Got tentative schedule in late April. Very excited. Our journey will officially start in Mid June, 2011.

During May, 2011, sent our treatment fees. Not sure how other IPs send their treatment fees. We used a private remittance comany, because the exchange rate was slightly better than remitting from banks. However, the customer service with that remittance company is AWFUL.We had some problems with them, when we requested for very simple information, bank transaction number of the transfer. They didnt provide, terrible service. Anyway, they lost one customer. In future, we decided to send money from the bank.

We try not to disturb Dr S and the team but we got too excited and just cant wait. At work or home, the MSN is on from 8: 30am to 12am, not to miss any email or notification from them.

Going to Gym three times a week to jog and exercise (to control stress and getting ready for Mid June journey). No caffein/coffee, no alcohol. Multi Vitamins, lots of fruits, veggies, walnuts. And not forgetting Menevit, this is for those who have some problems with the ability of their swimmers. Thanks to Margarida and the forum.....

The Basics

Early April, 2011.....

Completed all the basics such as enrolment, submitting all necessary test reports, enrolment fees and most importantly choosing our beautiful donor lady. :)  ... Were lucky enough to get our first choice donor... Good start!!!

Along the process, there were lots of stress, questions, stress agian, questions. And the support forum has helped us so much. For those who hasnt joined the forum, I suggest you should as soon as you are on this journey or thinking to start. It has almost all the answers for our questions. You can ask your questions and interract with many IPs who are going through the same journey with you. And not forgetting the help from two great ladies, Meg and Margarida.

And after that, the waiting started. It was only the beginning, but already having some sleepless nights, daydreaming at work, staring at babies on the way to work or from work. Cant imagine how we will handle this after pregnancy. Hmmm, again, probably we will be calmer by then?

How did we begin?

This is the very first post. First of all, english is not our first language, so excuse us if there is any errors.
Thinking of how we started....Well, we have been dreaming about becoming parents for years, dreaming for that family, complete with babies' laughters, cries etc. But never thought that would ever be possible.

Then last year i.e 2010 :) , I saw a youtube clip about surrogacy in the US. I was so interested, and started researching about surrogacy, way too expensive for us. Apart from that, we dont live in the US. But how much we wanted that, we even thought of migrating to the US in future just to make our dream come true. After awhile, we realised that going to the US is not the only option here. We could do that in Thailand too.

So, after doing lots and lots of reading and research about clinics and surrogacy news in Thailand, wrote many emails and phone calls to them. Slow responds, difficult communications, unreliable, etc. Then we somehow found out about the blogs of Australian parents who had already gone through or going through this journey with Clinics from India. Heard many good news about communication, success rate, etc.

And on 10th Mar 2011, wrote an email to Dr S and got very fast respond from her team (Meg and Margarida). The initial processing was pretty easy (not the whole journey). Honestly, we were kinda skeptical about the whole process in the beginning. Just having to communicate through emails, having to send the treatment fees in advance and so on. Again, I am sure everybody would have gone through with same feeling in the beginning right?

But after reading many blogs of IPs (some are now parents) all over the world, and with the help of support forum, we were convinced these are normal procedures with this journey. I even went to the extra mile of emailing some of the other IPs, to ask if they have followed the same procedures , like communication channel with the clinic, how they sent their fees, etc. That was just to be extra sure. And you know what, all those IP i emailed responded, how kind of them. Thanks to all of you.

So yes, we started our journey sometimes in March 2011. :).... We want to thank Margarida and Meg for being very patient with our never ending questions, and for being so informative. You guys are doing a great job. And to Dr S and the team. .......Thank you all. :)
